Who We Are
Rooted in Resilience. Guided by Compassion. Committed to Change.

Our Story
At Pawsitive Pathways Inc, we believe healing happens through connection—with ourselves, with others, with our communities, and with animals. Our mission is to create personalized pathways to healing through trauma-informed mental health services, animal-assisted healing, advocacy, education, and community support.
Pawsitive Pathways Inc. was founded by a BIPOC mental health professional and nonprofit leader whose lived experiences navigating the child welfare, behavioral health, and criminal justice systems inspired a lifelong commitment to transforming the systems that too often fail individuals and families. Those experiences shaped not only our organization's mission, but also our belief that healing should be accessible, culturally responsive, affirming, and rooted in compassion rather than judgment.

Our Founder & Executive Director believes that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and empowered—and that healing is not limited to the therapy room. Through collaboration, advocacy, education, and meaningful community partnerships, Pawsitive Pathways Inc works to remove barriers to care while creating spaces where individuals, families, and communities can heal, grow, and thrive together. A core part of our work is honoring the powerful bond between humans and animals. Animals offer connection, regulation, unconditional acceptance, and hope, making them meaningful partners in the healing journey.
Meet Our Pack
Our organization is proudly inspired by three rescued bully breeds who continue to remind us of the resilience, loyalty, and unconditional love that healing is built upon.
-
Miss Kiko Aiko — Task-Trained Emotional Support Dog
-
Sir Ghost Bandito — Task-Trained Psychiatric Service Dog, Animal-Assisted Healing Partner, and Co-Therapist
-
King Koa T'Challa — Task-Trained Personal Protection Dog (non-bite trained)
Each member of our Pack was rescued or adopted and individually task-trained by our Founder, reflecting our commitment to animal welfare, rescue advocacy, and the belief that healing and second chances extend to both people and animals.

Today, Pawsitive Pathways Inc. serves individuals, families, professionals, and communities through trauma-informed mental health services, animal-assisted healing, professional training, community initiatives, and advocacy. Whether someone is seeking therapy, support, education, or connection, our goal is the same: to create spaces where healing feels possible, hope is restored, and everyone has the opportunity to find their own pathway forward.
Because no one should have to walk their healing journey alone.
